Do you guys see what I did there?
It's official, Caroline and I will be packing our bags and heading for Daegu, South Korea in August. We'll land in Seoul, (hence the title of this post), on August 19th and then we'll board a train/bus/plane(?) for Daegu in early September. There, we will begin our careers as English language teachers for the Korean public school system. I've repeated this in my mind at least a thousand times since receiving my Notice of Appointment and it still just won't sink in.
I'm planning on using this blog as a way to keep myself occupied while I'm out there, (although I'm sure I'll be plenty busy). Expect weekly updates about our classroom experiences, the food we'll consume, our new found lifestyle, and all other things outside of the ordinary. I'll probably use this space to upload and share videos as we document our time in Korea and our travels throughout the rest of the region.
I'll probably write a detailed post about Daegu at some point, but rest assured for now my friends, the city is home to a professional baseball team, the Samsung Lions, as well as a professional K-League (think MLS) soccer club, the lovable Daegu FC. With a ball club and a soccer team to support, my life probably won't be too much different than it already is...right...?
